Bandari FC vs. Mathare United value odds & scoring tips – KPL betting

Bandari v Mathare

Bandari v Mathare
Bandari’s mission to sate their lust of the Premier League title will see them welcome Mathare United this weekend in the the Kenyan Premier League.

The Saturday afternoon encounter is scheduled to take place at the Mbaraki Sports Club in the coastal city of Mombasa.

The Dockers stretched their lead at the top of the KPL standings to five points after registering a narrow 1-0 win against visiting Nzoia Sugar over the weekend. The sole goal of the encounter came as early as the fourth minute through Felly Mulumba.

Yema Mwana went to ground inside the box after Nzoia goalkeeper Benson Mangala’s botched attempt to make a save; prompting centre referee Japhet Juma to point to the spot. Stepping up to take the penalty, Mulumba calmly converted from 12 yards to award the hosts with the lead.

A goal within the first few exchanges of any encounter often signifies either an absolute battering by the hosts or goals galore in an end-to-end encounter. That was however not the case in this particular instance, as Bandari’s attack turned blunt after the goal while Nzoia—albeit threatening on the break—just couldn’t find a way back into the contest.

Despite having a game in hand over second placed Mathare United, Bernard Mwalala’s charges moved five points clear at the top; collecting 31 points from 14 games in the Kenyan premier League. A fourth successive defeat for Nzoia Sugar condemned the Millers to eleventh on the 18-team table with 17 points from their first 14 games in the League.

Mathare United returned back to winning ways after a deserving 2-0 win over AFC Leopards on Saturday afternoon at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. The score sheet remained goalless for much of the encounter up until Francis Kimanzi worked his magic with the substitutions.

Having began the day on the bench, the attacking duo of Ronald Reagan and Tyson Otieno stepped on the turf in the second half to secure all three points with strikes towards the tail end of the match. Ronald was the first to shake the back of the net, as he capitalized on a blunder by Leopards goalkeeper Eric Ndayishimiye before cleverly dinking the ball over the Rwandan in the 86th minute.

Reagan was also involved in the second goal, as his vicious shot, which was thwarted by Ndayishimiye, fell into the path of Tyson Otieno who easily slotted it into the back of the net deep in injury time.

Crumbling down during the final stages of the encounter highlighted the sorry state of affairs at AFC, as the 13-time League champions fell to a staggering sixth defeat on the bounce; an outcome that left them dead and buried at the foot of the table with just 10 point from their first 14 KPL games of the campaign.

Bandari FC vs. Mathare United betting prediction

Bandari’s dazzling start in the first half of the season has been down to the individual brilliance of key member of the squad; none hogging the headlines quite like Abdalla Hassan.

The Harambee Stars winger has been in sensational form this year, and it’s no surprise that his three match winning goals scored last month earned him the SportPesa/LG Player of the Month Award, along with a cash prize of KES 100,000 (USD 1,000).

Although Bandari has never worn the Kenyan Premier League crown, the Dockers seem to have regrouped from the second place finish last season, to mount a solid threat to Gor Mahia’s monopoly.

The pendulum is usually prone to swing in either way in a match pitting first against second on the log—especially when both sides are beaming with confidence. This assumption is however challenged by the fact that this fixture has ended in a draw in three of the last five meetings, whereas Bandari have been imperious thus far at the Mbaraki Sports Club.
