Leg 1 – Southampton vs Manchester United

Saturday, August 31 – 12:30pm BST – St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton

After a swashbuckling start to the Premier League campaign in which they drubbed Chelsea 4-0, Manchester United has retrogressed to the same problems that crippled their progress last season; one that consequently saw them finish outside the top four.

Currently fifth on the log following subsequent draw to Wolves and a shocking home defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s charges could best arrest the decline by returning back to winning ways.

It was evident against Palace that United lacked the confidence and ruthlessness exhibited on the opening day of the season, but a match against a Southampton side already flirting with relegation is just what the Red devils need to boost their morale ahead of the international break.

Prediction: Man United to win – +110 at Bovada

Leg 2 – Chelsea vs Sheffield United

Saturday, August 31 – 3pm BST – Stamford Bridge, London

Chelsea registered their first win of the season by beating Norwich City 3-2 in a brisk and busy encounter at Carrow Road last weekend. With a defeat, a draw with Leicester City and a win over the Canaries, Frank Lampard’s charges find themselves in the second half of the table — albeit level on four points with nine other teams.

One of those teams is Sheffield United who, on account of being newly promoted, have made a decent start in the Premier League. With an opening day draw away to Bournemouth, a home triumph over Palace and their first loss of the season against Leicester City last weekend, the Blades have everything it takes to trouble Chelsea who are still trying to find their mojo under their new manager.

Prediction: Both teams to score – +100 at Bovada

Leg 3 – Manchester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Saturday, August 31 – 3pm BST – Etihad Stadium, Manchester

Manchester City will be hoping to secure their third win in four games when they welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to the Etihad on Saturday. Winners of the last two Premier League titles, Pep Guardiola’s side are already precariously playing catch up with Liverpool having been forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Tottenham following a VAR fiasco a fortnight ago.

Adamant to make their own luck, City nonetheless retuned back to winning ways by convincingly brushing aside Bournemouth 3-1 last Sunday.

Brighton may have churned out a win, a draw and a defeat in their first three opening matches of the season against Watford, West Ham United and Southampton, but the Seagulls won’t be any match for Citizens.

Prediction: Man City to win both halves – -142.86 at Bovada

Leg 4 – Burnley vs Liverpool

Saturday, August 31 – 5:30pm BST – Turf Moor, Burnley

Liverpool is the only team that has made a perfect start to the 2019/20 EPL campaign with three wins in their first three matches of the season.

Although they trounced newcomers Norwich City 4-1 on the opening weekend before following it up with a 2-1 defeat to Southampton, it was last weekend’s 3-1 win over Arsenal that underlined Liverpool’s title credentials.

Sean Dyche’s Burnley on the other hand has registered a win, draw and a loss against Southampton, Arsenal and Wolves respectively.

Going by Liverpool’s imperious form, there shouldn’t be any other result except an emphatic win by the Reds.

Prediction: Total goals over 2.5 – -166.67 at Bovada

Leg 5 – Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

Sunday, September 1 – 4:30pm BST – Emirates Stadium, London

Intercity rivalry will be renewed this Sunday when Arsenal face Tottenham Hotspur in what is without question the box-office match of the weekend.

The Gunners are currently third on the table after collecting six points from possible nine; two points ahead of Spurs who have had a win, draw and loss in their first three games.

When it however comes to fierce derbies such as this, everything boils down to who will want it the most. As it stands, both sides should be able to test each other accordingly.

Prediction: Both teams to score – -200 at Bovada
