FanDuel planning new TV programs offering sports betting advice

FanDuel‘s efforts to expand in the midst of legalised sports betting in the United States are set to include new TV programs that offer punters expert advice and analysis.

The planned programs are going to be featured on TVG and TVG2 according to FanDuel’s Matt King.

Gambling fans witnessed the rise of poker television shows earlier this century in the midst of the online-poker boom. One popular show called “Poker After Dark” has featured numerous top poker players over the years.

Those shows have helped make celebrities out of Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Tom Dwan, and many others. As sports betting grows, perhaps “Sports Betting After Dark” will become a thing too.

Accordingly, the legalisation of sports betting promises to make celebrities out of gambling pundits too. Before legalisation, the sports shows would allude to betting odds here and there or offer tips for those positioned to make legal wagers.

However, the sports shows didn’t really have gambling as the primary focus. Rather, the tips and odds were infrequently mentioned. Now that sports gambling can go mainstream, the whole landscape of sports commentary in North America promises to change.
