Australia v Dominican Republic FIBA World Cup Basketball Betting

  • Australia (-22) vs. Dominican Republic O/U 161

Australia are the big basketball betting favorites in this 2nd round game and they won all three of their games in winning Group H, which was the group of death. They won two of their three group games by double figures and their balance showed with three different high scorers in the three games. Patty Mills leads the team averaging 20 ppg and five players are averaging at least nine ppg.

The Dominican Republic comes into this game after getting crushed 90-56 in their last group game facing France. They shot a woeful 27.9% from the floor in the game and to have any chance in this game they have to slow the pace and shoot the rock better.

The Dominicans will be successful slowing down the game, but they will struggle to score. They will lose pretty badly, but in a lower scoring game they will cover the 22-point spread.

Brazil v Czech Republic FIBA World Cup Basketball Betting

  • Brazil (-6) vs. Czech Republic O/U 162

Brazil won their group, which included Greece, and are a 6-point betting favorites facing a Czech Republic team whose only loss was to team USA. Veteran Leandro Barbosa has led the team averaging 13.7 ppg, but only went for eight points in the last group game. They need to repeat their performance when they beat Greece by one-point playing great defense holding the Greeks to 40% shooting.

The Czechs come into this game hot beating Turkey by 15 points in the last group game even though they were underdogs by 8.5 points. Ondrej Balvín went for 24 points and Jaromir Bohacik had 20 for the Czech Republic in the Turkey win where they shot 59% from the floor and held the Turks to 38.3% shooting.

The Czechs will step up again in this game and play Brazil close and while they may not win, they will cover the spread getting six points.

France v Lithuania FIBA World Cup Basketball Betting

  • France (-4) vs. Lithuania O/U 153.5

France won their last two games of their group in blowouts and while they did win the group it was one of the easiest ones. Lithuania was the 2nd place team in Group H in the Group of Death.

The big matchup in this game is the solid defense of France led by Rudy Gobert facing the great frontcourt of Lithuania led by Domantas Sabonis and Jonas Valanciunas, who did not play well in the last game, which was a loss to Australia.

Three players for France are averaging at least 12 ppg led by Evan Fournier (16 ppg) and Gobert is averaging a double-double. The French will pull this one out playing solid defense in the pain and getting balanced scoring and will also cover the spread.

USA v Greece FIBA World Cup Basketball Betting

  • USA (-8.5) vs. Greece O/U 168.5

Team USA throttled Japan by 43 points in their last group game while narrowly avoiding losing in OT in their previous game facing Turkey, who did not make it out of the group. Starting FW Jayson Tatum was injured in the Turkey game and will miss this one. The deep American squad led by Kemba Walker (14 ppg) has five players averaging in double figures with all of them shooting over 45% from the floor.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has averaged 15.7 ppg and 7.3 rpg in the tournament and Georgios Printezis leads the squad averaging 16.3 ppg. The Greek Freak’s defense will be key in this game and the team will likely take a page frokm Turkey and play zone, which may frustrate the Yanks.

After failing to cover the spread in their first two games team USA did in their last game and they will have another impressive performance against Greece winning and covering.
