Poland vs Argentina FIBA World Cup Basketball Betting

  • Poland vs. Argentina (-9) O/U 161

Poland beat Russia 79-74 in their first 2nd round game where they shot poorly (35.8%), but played good defense holding the Russians to a FG% of 40%. They were very physical in the game and had twice as many free throws as Russia (38-19) and hit 35 of their shots from the charity stripe.

Adam Waczynski and Mateusz Ponitka led the way for the Poles in the win over Russia and were only two of three players scoring double digits in the game.

Argentina had no problem in their last game beating Venezuela 87-67. Luis Scola had 15 points and six rebounds and Gabriel Deck came up big going for 25 points while totaling 27 in his first three games in the tournament.

Argentina has the team to be physical with Poland and not let them take a ton of free throws. Scola and company have too many weapons and are a deeper team and they will keep up their impressive run in the World Cup beating Poland and covering the spread even giving nine points.

Italy vs Puerto Rico FIBA World Cup Basketball Betting

  • Italy (-15.5) vs. Puerto Rico O/U 154.5

Italy put up a good fight in their last game falling to Spain 67-60 where they were outscored by eight points in the 2nd half. For the game they played good D holding Spain to 39.3% shooting, but they only shot 35.4% from the floor.

Danilo Gallinari and Luigi Datome were the only Italy players in double digits and combined for 27 points and Marco Belinelli struggled, big time, only scoring seven points on 3/16 shooting.

Puerto Rico was throttled in their last game losing to Serbia 90-47 where they were plain bad on both ends of the floor. David Huertas led the team with only 11 points and was the only player with more than eight points.

Italy had their chances in the game against Spain but came up short. They will have no problem handling Puerto Rico, who will be outmatched again, and they will easily win and cover the spread.

Spain vs Servia FIBA World Cup Basketball Betting

  • Spain (-9) vs. Serbia O/U 159.5

This is the big basketball betting game of Sunday and Serbia has won their four games in the World Cup by an average margin of 40.8 ppg. They crushed Puerto Rico in their last game with reserve Nemanja Bjelica and Boban Marjanovic combining for 34 points and Nikola Jokic going for a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in less than 17 minutes on the court.

Spain relied on their defense to beat Italy 67-60 in their last game where they struggled to shoot the rock. Marc Gasol only had two points, Ricky Rubio had 15, but only shot 36.4% from the floor, and Juancho Hernangomez was key in the game going for 16 points on 60% shooting.

Serbia has not been tested in the World Cup so far, but that will change in this game. The Spanish have more skilled players in the backcourt, but even with Gasol the Serbs have the edge in the frontcourt, especially with Jokic. I see a close one in this one and while Spain may pull out the win it will be close and Serbia will, at least, cover the spread.
