2018 FedEx Cup Playoffs – Tour Championship odds & betting tips
THREE players share the first line of betting for the 2018 Tour Championship, which kicks off this Thursday at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club.
Online bookmaker Bovada has Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and world number one Justin Rose all at +900 to take out the final event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
The standout in that illustrious group is Rose, who finished outright second at the Dell Championship and lost to Keegan Bradley in sudden death at the BMW Championship.
Tiger Woods wound up middle of the pack in the first two playoff tournaments, but he returned to form at Aronimink to grab a share of sixth place.
He and fellow big-game player Brooks Koepka are each paying +1200 for the win, just behind +1100 chance Justin Thomas.

Bryson DeChambeau’s winning streak came to an end at the BMW, where he tied for 19th, yet he holds onto a commanding lead in the FedEx Cup rankings.
The one they call ‘The Mad Scientist’ is pegged at +1800, alongside Ryder Cup teammate Rickie Fowler.
For all the stars on show, this edition of the season finale is perhaps most notable for the big names that missed out.
A disastrous final round of 73 at the BMW saw Jordan Spieth slip to 31st in the FedEx Cup charts – one place outside the cutoff for East Lake.
European stars Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson may be bound for Le Golf National next week, but neither were anywhere near the final 30 on the PGA Tour.
Adam Scott fell short despite a late-season charge, while not a single South African player made the grade (if we discount Johannesburg-born Justin Rose).

Best bet: Justin Rose
- +900 to win at Bovada
- +225 for top European player
- +165 to finish top five
When Rose is on a hot streak, there are very few players on tour who can match him shot for shot. He fell short in a playoff last time out, but the Englishman’s all-round form is ominous with the Ryder Cup around the corner. If you think the odds are a little tight for the win, take the +165 for another top-five finish.
In the mix: Tony Finau
- +1800 to win at 5Dimes
- +1100 for top American player
- +100 to finish top 10
Most of the golfing world was delighted to see Finau’s consistent season rewarded with a captain’s pick for the Ryder Cup. With that target clocked, might we see the big-hitting Mormon free the arms at East Lake? Three consecutive top-10 finishes suggest that’s where the smart money is.
Value pick: Billy Horschel
- +2800 to win at William Hill
- +2500 for first round leader
- +175 to finish top 10
Like Rose, this guy is dangerous when he gets in a groove. Horschel was forced to withdraw from the Dell Championship, but podium finishes at both the Northern Trust and the BMW have catapulted him into the top 10 on the FedEx Cup leaderboard. The Floridian has won here before, so count him out at your own risk.
