2018 World Cup Group C betting – odds & tips on who will advance
Group C provides a mixed bag for punters and a very nice start for one of the favourites of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, France.
Les Bleus have to be happy with their draw, avoiding all the other giants of the competition early. Still, they have had issues in international tournaments in recent times and will not take anyone lightly in Russia.

France Group C betting
France is loaded and they have one of the better midfields in the tournament with the likes of Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, and Adrien Rabiot. Up front they are solid and 18-year old wonder Kylian Mbappé could break out this summer. Raphael Varane leads the back line and Hugo Lloris must have a good tournament in the net. Pogba may be the key player for Les Bleus and other teams will focus on him, which is why the midfield has to use that to their advantage and create space getting the ball up front and attacking the opposing defense. On paper France has the world class talent to go all the way, but with France you never know, as they are never adverse to a big meltdown in major international tournaments.
Denmark Group C odds
Denmark is led by a solid defense that only allowed eight goals in 10 World Cup qualifying matches. They are also solid in the midfield and their attack is led by their best player in Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen. He scored a hat trick in the decisive WC playoff match against Ireland and he will be counted on to pressure the opposing defense. The Danes managed just three points in the last World Cup and they look to, obviously, improve upon that this summer. They are not the deepest team in the tournament and besides Eriksen they do not have a lot of attacking players, but the squad is pretty solid up and down and they will go as far as their defensive back line takes them.
Peru Group C World Cup betting
Peru had to beat New Zealand in a World Cup qualifier and this is their first WC tournament since 1982. The defense is a good one and they have some solid young talent on the pitch with the likes of Renato Tapia, Andy Polo, and Yordy Reyna. Paolo Guerrero or Jefferson Farfan are a good attacking duo, but the key player to the Peruvian squad is playmaker Christian Cueva. His playmaking skills are great and that will be especially key in Group C with the solid defense that the teams have. The midfield is not the best one in the tournament and the back line has to help out when it comes to the attack and getting the ball to the guys up front. Peru has also been pretty impressive in their recent friendlies and while not beating a world power they notched wins against Croatia, Iceland, and Saudi Arabia, which are three teams that are playing in Russia this summer.
Australia Group C betting
Australia is making their 4th straight appearance in the World Cup, but they are longshots to win the group. Not surprising since they played to draws facing Iraq, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia in qualifying and those teams are far from world powers. Tim Cahill is the veteran of the squad and he scored 11 goals in WC qualifying. Aaron Mooy is a talent that must play well and while the Aussies are an attack-minded team they have issues in the midfield and with the way they play they must be wary of defending the counter-attack.
