Bandari vs. Gor Mahia scoring tips – 2018/19 KPL Round 1 value odds

Bandari v Gor Mahia KPL
Reigning Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia will launch their defence of the title with a trip to the coastal city of Mombasa this weekend.

Their KPL opener will be against Bandari, who finished second on the log last season, with the showdown set to take place on Saturday afternoon.

The encounter comes only a matter of days after Gor’s midweek clash against Malawian side Nyasa Big Bullets in the preliminary round of the 2018/19 CAF Champions League.

K’Ogalo are still trying adapt to life after Dylan Kerr; this coming after the English coach parted ways with the club last month in order to take over the coaching role with Black Leopards in the ABSA Premier League.

Kerr was a fan favorite among the Mayienga faithful for his charisma just as much as it was for his tactical nous, winning two successive KPL titles during his 16-month stay with the club.

Gor have yet to appoint a permanent replacement for the Briton, and the first team is as such under the temporary tutelage of former Harambee Stars head coach and current assistant at the club, Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno.

The club is however expected to make an official announcement on their new head coach next week, with Turkish tactician Hassan Oktay increasingly looking as the most probable replacement for Kerr.

Oktay was part of the squad that travelled to Malawi on Wednesday for the top-tier continental cup competition, although the club was quick to emphasize that the current assistant coach at Braintree Town FC was only in the stands as a watchful observer, rather than the coach.

The Turk is only one of four coaches to have reached the final screening process, making the cut from an initial list of 53 applicants who had tried their luck with the job.

Bandari vs. Gor Mahia betting predictions

Despite joining Bandari in the middle of the season from fellow KPK outfit Nzoia Sugar, Bernard Mwalala managed have a brilliant campaign with the Dockers, guiding them to a second place finish which was by all accounts an impressive outcome—given their previous 10th place finish.

What’s more, Bandari infamously ended Gor Mahia’s seven-month unbeaten run in the KPL last season, defeating the champions 2-1.

K’Ogalo on the other hand have a strong squad and will certainly be out for revenge, but the result could go either way, seeing as the 17-time KPL champions have gained notoriety for making a sluggish start in recent campaigns.

Predictions:
Both teams to score
Either Bandari or Gor Mahia to Win
