AFTER a conspicuously quieter weekend without Premier League action, the second week of October kicks up a notch to provide punters a veritable sporting feast.
All the big soccer leagues are back, the NFL and A-League both continue while some small race called the Caulfield Cup headlines a gigantic weekend of racing all across the country.
The experts at CupsBetting.com.au are no strangers when it comes to providing a detailed multi across a specific sport, so it comes as no surprise that we are happy to put together a parlay across the entire weekend that punters can be confident in.
All odds for this weekend’s action were provided by Sportsbet.com.au, who is offering punters a fantastic inducement for those yet to sign up.
New customers can get their first bet at Sportsbet matched up to the value of $501.
Week 8 EPL multi selections:
Real Love to place in the Caulfield Cup ($2.50)
Manchester City to beat Everton ($1.44)
Perth Glory to win against Wellington Phoenix ($1.61)
Oakland Raiders to beat the Kansas City Chiefs ($1.88)
Saturday, October 15 from 4.30pm AEDST, Caulfield Racecourse, Melbourne
The Caulfield Cup is the first of the huge, recognisable Group 1 races of the Melbourne Spring Carnival, so naturally we had to take a look at the market here.
Jameka rolls into Saturday as the favourite after dropping in weight and has the ability to win the race, but we are impressed by the lead in form of former Western Australian Real Love.
Real Love’s last start was an impressive win at Mooney Valley in the Group 3 JRA Cup and carries the same weight as the race favourite.
We are happy to snap up the $2.50 on odds for the star mare to place in this year’s Caulfield Cup.
Tip: Real Love to place in the 2016 Caulfield Cup – $2.50
Manchester City vs. Everton
Sunday, 16 October from 1am AEDST, Etihad Stadium, Manchester
It is the SBS broadcast game of the week and one of our banker legs of the Premier League multi so it would be remiss of us to leave out Manchester City from our weekend sport edition.
Manchester City has dropped just one game this season, but before then had won every single game of their Premier League campaign to date.
Everton currently occupy fifth position on the table but they have not played any team close to the calibre of the Sky Blues.
City to beat Everton is a no brainer for us and we are happy to recommend them in both our Premier League and our weekend multi.
Perth Glory vs. Wellington Phoenix
Sunday, 16 October from 7pm AEDST, NIB Stadium, Perth
We look to the A-League for the third leg of the multi as the Phoenix from across the Tasman travel all the way to Western Australia to face the Glory in Perth.
Wellington is fresh off a defeat that should not have happened. The ‘nix had a one man advantage against Melbourne City at home for almost an entire half but failed to overturn a 1-0 deficit.
The story was much, much worse for Perth.
The Glory were left to rue a missed opportunity after they gave up a 3-0 lead to the wooden spoon-predicted Central Coast Mariners.
We cannot see the Glory coming into this match complacent, Perth should win comfortably to keep our multi alive.
Tip: Perth Glory to win – $1.61
Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Monday, 17 October from 4.05am AEDST, Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, California
We head to the early hours of Monday morning for the final leg of our multi, specifically to the west coast of America as the Oakland Raiders host the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC West match up.
The Raiders are red-hot at the moment, boasting a division-topping 4-1 record that has seen them post average scores of 28.4 points per week – the fifth best record in the NFL.
Kansas City is fresh off their bye but currently at a crossroads. Another loss would see them drift to 2-3 which would place them in a precarious position for a playoff berth.
The Chiefs defence is rated in the bottom third of the entire league, which does not bode well considering their formidable opponent.
We are backing the Raiders to bring our weekend multi to a conclusion in the best way possible.
