Parlay leg 1 – Chelsea vs. Arsenal

Saturday, August 18 – 5:30p.m Local time – Stamford Bridge, London, United Kingdom

Despite losing first choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid, on top of the begrudging prospect of having to play in the Europa League this season, Maurizio Sarri still registered one of the biggest results on the opening weekend following Chelsea’s emphatic 3-0 win away to Huddersfield Town; N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Pedro in among the goals.

There wasn’t however a quick fix to Arsenal, as Unai Emery started life at the Emirates with a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City. It was an invidious start to the League for the Gunners despite the change of guard, with the new Asenal boss requesting for more time to create a championship winning side.

The Blues at the moment look the sharper side and should as such do just enough to nick a win.

Prediction: Chelsea to win – $1.83 at Bovada

Parlay leg 2 – Manchester City vs. Huddersfield Town

Sunday, August 19 – 1:30p.m Local time – Etihad Stadium, Manchester, United Kingdom

He may have broken a ludicrous eleven records on course to winning the Premier League crown last season, but Pep Guardiola isn’t one to settle or rests on his laurels. Manchester City were off to a flying start with a deserved 2-0 win away to Arsenal in what was quite rightly the most high profile match of the opening weekend.

The champions have yet to attain the peaks they reached last season, understandably so, and will certainly improve on their distribution, given the jittery nature of their first encounter of the season.

David Wagner is capable of whipping up a storm against Guardiola- if Huddersfield’s recent results in the encounter are anything to go by- although it’s seemingly unlikely that City will falter this time round.

Prediction: Man City to win – $1.06 at Bovada

Parlay leg 3 – Tottenham Hotspur vs. Fulham F.C

Saturday, August 18 – 3:00p.m Local time – Wembley Stadium, London, United Kingdom

Dele Alli inspired Tottenham Hotspur to a 2-1 win on their trip to Newcastle after Jan Vertonghen’s early opener was cancelled by Joselu. It was a hard earned win for Spurs who, despite not making any meaningful additions in the English summer, could still count on their barrage of World Cup stars to push them over the line.

Fulham on the other hand went down in a heap on their return to the Premier League, as they sustained a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace. The Cottagers could yet face another damaging defeat when they line up against one of the most inspiring attacking sides in the Premier League this weekend.

Prediction: Spurs to win – $1.28 at Bovada

Parlay leg 4 – Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Manchester United

Sunday August 19 – 4:00pm Local time – Amex Stadium, Brighton and Hove, United Kingdom

Paul Pogba scored the first goal of the 2018/19 EPL season as Manchester United edged past Leicester City with a 2-1 at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho has heavily downplayed his sides’ credibility for the title this season, perhaps as a way of elevating unnecessary pressure from his charges, or just because of frustrations emanating from his genuine displeasure at the club’s transfer policy.

Whichever the case, Manchester United should, albeit quietly, go about their business with a good result against Brighton and Hove Albion who were beaten 2-0 by Watford in their League opener.

Prediction: Man United to win – $1.75 at Bovada

Parlay leg 5 – Crystal Palace vs. Liverpool

Monday, August 20 – 8:00p.m Local time – Selhurst Park, London, United Kingdom
Liverpool put up a mouthwatering performance in their first match as they blitzed past West Ham United with a 4-0 win to go top of the table via goal difference. It was a huge win for the Reds, one that manager Jurgen Klopp was all but reluctant to admit it even surpassed his expectations.

Palace likewise won their opening fixture, but Liverpool’s sheer quality and determination to contend for the title, given the heavy investment made in transfers, should be enough to trounce the Eagles.

Prediction: Liverpool to win – $1.40 at Bovada
