US Open Women’s final betting – Williams vs. Osaka analysis & tips

The US Open finals are set for the Women’s draw with 17th seed Serena Williams facing off against 20th seed Naomi Osaka.

Serena Williams betting analysis

In the semifinals Williams dropped the first two games and then won 12 of the next 13 games to take out 19th seed Anastasija Sevastova 6-3, 6-0. Osaka was also impressive in her semifinal match, beating Madison Keys 6-2, 6-4. Both players have only dropped one set in the tournament and each won in straight sets in the quarterfinals and semifinals.

These players have only met once all-time and it was this season at the Miami Open where Osaka upset Williams beating her in the first round 6-3, 6-2. Can she pull off another upset in the Big Apple? Naomi Osaka betting analysis

Osaka had never even made a Grand Slam semifinals before this tournament, but she did not any sign of nerves in taking out Keys in her last match. She was not broken once in the match and her ground-strokes were solid. While she did cruise to a win facing Williams earlier this season Serena was only playing in her second tournament after her maternity leave, so she was rusty.

Osaka was born in 1997, which was Serena’s first season on tour. In her interview after beating Keys she said she wanted to face Williams and she got her wish. She will have to serve well and withstand the play from the baseline from the more powerful Williams. Osaka saved all 13 of Keys’ break points in the semis and she cannot give up that many facing Williams.

While Osaka’s run to the finals has been impressive and she beat Williams this season her run comes to an end. Many experts are predicting a pretty close match, but I am going against them, as Serena will dominate from the get-go.
