Man United vs Leicester City betting odds, tips and predictions

Man United vs Leicester Premier League odds

Eighth-placed Manchester United will be hoping to return to winning ways when they welcome Leicester City on Saturday afternoon in the English Premier League.

The first international break of the season couldn’t have come any sooner for Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s charges, who were on a dreadful run of matches after a promising start.

United received several plaudits for launching their season with a 4-0 drubbing of Chelsea at Old Trafford, only to come under fire soon afterwards after failing to win any of their next three matches.

Their most recent result, played before the international break, was a 1-1 draw away to perennial strugglers Southampton. Daniel James fired United into the lead within the opening 10 minutes, but the Saints halved the points after Danish defender Jannik Vestergaard equalised at the start of the second half.

Leicester City, in stark contrast, are flying and firing. Third on the ladder and yet to sustain a defeat this campaign, the Foxes departed for the international break on the back of a thrilling 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

Jamie Vardy broke the deadlock in the 12th minute with a perfectly executed strike before Callum Wilson equalised for the visitors just three minutes later. The visitors, however, regained their lead four minutes before the break through Belgium international Youri Tielemans, who directed the ball into the back of the net after some fine work from Vardy. The goalscorer then turned provider when Tielemans set Vardy through to complete his brace in the 73rd minute.

Manchester United team news

There’s a very good chance that the hosts will be without regular starters Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, who all had a short-lived stay with their respective nations during the international break.

Wan-Bissaka’s senior debut for England was hampered by a back problem, while Lingard suffered an illness. Pogba couldn’t partake in any of France’s European Championship qualifiers due to an ankle injury.

Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw, who suffered injuries during the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, could both return to action this week.

Leicester City team news

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers looks poised to be without three players for their trip to Old Trafford.

Centre-back Wes Morgan has been ruled out of the match with a back injury, while midfielders Matthew James and Daniel Amartey are out on long-term injuries.

Jamie Vardy goalscorer odds and specials

Vardy first goalscorer – +162 at Bovada
Vardy to score/Leicester win – +650 at Bovada

Jamie Vardy has been in great shape this season, playing a part in four of Leicester’s six Premier League goals thus far.

Since the 2014/15 campaign, only Harry Kane (124) and Sergio Aguero (118) have scored more goals in the Premier League than the Leicester hitman, who has found the back of the net 83 times.

Well rested having retired from international football last year, the 32-year-old should be firing on all cylinders against United.

Manchester United vs Leicester City betting predictions

Both teams to score/no draw – +150 at Bovada

Whereas Manchester United has dropped points in their last three EPL games, losing to Palace while drawing with Wolves and Southampton, Leicester City have won against Bournemouth and Sheffield United, and drawn with Chelsea in their last three outings.

As of yet, the Foxes are unbeaten in the league and Brendan will be adamant to maintain that run on Saturday. Troubled as they may be however, United could still take on anyone on their day.
