MLB Friday night parlay predictions and odds

MLB ParlayDate: Friday, August 28th 2015

EVERY team is in action on Friday night to kick-off the final weekend of baseball before September.

Playoff races are intensifying, but everyone’s watching the Yankees and Blue Jays battle it out in the AL East. Toronto just took a 1-game lead in the division on Tuesday, but this race is going to come down to the wire.

Kansas City are fine in the AL Central, as they now have a 13-game lead on the Twins. Houston still leads the AL West, but the Rangers are only 4.5-games back. The Angels snapped a 4-game losing streak, but are still reeling.

The NL doesn’t feature as many close races, but the NL West is still tight. The Dodgers lead the division, but the Giants are just 2-games back. The Mets (NL East) and Cardinals (NL Central) both appear to be in control in the division races.

It’s time to breakdown my MLB predictions for Friday, August 28th 2015.

Tigers vs. Blue Jays best bets

Start Time: Friday, August 28th 2015 at 7:07pm ET.

Venue: Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

The Detroit Tigers (59-66) and Toronto Blue Jays (70-55) open up a series on Friday at the Rogers Centre.

Detroit won a 3-game series (2-1) at home against the Blue Jays earlier this season, but dating back to last season, the Jays are 6-3 in the H2H series. Toronto have also won four in a row, while the Tigers have lost five consecutive games.

R.A Dickey 8-10 (4.26 ERA & 1.31 WHIP) is 3-0 in August and has been getting great run support. Scoring shouldn’t be a problem for the Blue Jays, as the Tigers are sending Matt Boyd 1-4 (7.04 ERA & 1.63 WHIP) to the mound.

Toronto still leads the league in runs scored (5.40 RPG) and the lead is growing. During the Blue Jays current win streak, they’re averaging 10.5 RPG. Toronto will be big money line favorites, so the best bet is on the runline.

Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays RL at 5Dimes.eu

Royals vs. Rays best bets

Start Time: Friday, August 28th 2015 at 7:10pm ET.

Venue: Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Tampa Bay (62-63) has lost two games in a row (4-6 in L10), but I believe they’ll present good value on Friday night when they take the field against the Kansas City Royals (77-48). KC are on a 4-game winning streak (8-2 in L10).

The Rays are only 2.5-games back in the AL wild card race, while the Royals have a 13-game lead in the AL Central. TB have a lot to play for and they need to come out of this weekend series against the Royals with a pair of wins.

Kansas City’s starter is Edison Volquez 11-7 (3.40 ERA & 1.26 WHIP), while the Rays starter is Erasmo Ramirez 10-4 (3.66 ERA & 1.11 WHIP). Volquez played the Rays last month and only allowed 1 run after 5 innings.

Ramirez is 2-0 this month, despite allowing 4 ER’s and 2 HR’s last time out against the Athletics.

Both pitchers are playing great, but I expect the Rays to start this important home series off on the right foot with a big win. The Royals swept the Rays in KC (4-0) earlier in the season, but TB is playing good baseball this month.

Prediction: Tampa Bay Rays ML at 5Dimes.eu

Cardinals vs. Giants best bets

Start Time: Friday, August 28th 2015 at 10:15pm ET.

Venue: AT&T Park in San Francisco, California.

The San Francisco Giants (66-59) are in a bit of slump – they’re losers of three straight. SF opens up a home series this Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals (80-45) and I believe this is another game where we can get a good price.

It’s likely the Cardinals will be small favorites, which means we’ll be getting plus money on the Giants at home. STL are great no matter where they play, but the Giants are in a close race for the NL West and need to win this series more.

Michael Wacha 15-4 (2.80 ERA & 1.12 WHIP) is the starting pitcher for the Cardinals. He’s having another great season, which includes a 3-0 record in August. Mike Leake 9-6 (3.44 ERA & 1.13 WHIP) is pitching nearly as well.

The problem for Leake is he often doesn’t get much run support. However, I believe getting back to AT&T Park will help out a lot. The Giants have been on the road most of the month, but they’re 5-1 at home in August.

With two good pitchers again in this match-up, it’ll be close, but I like the underdog again.

Prediction: San Francisco Giants ML at 5Dimes.eu
