Week two of the 2019 NFL regular season sees the New Orleans Saints take on the Los Angeles Rams in a rematch of last year’s NFC title game, where the Rams beat the Saints in the Big Easy.

The Saints are still fuming over that 26-23 OT loss, where there was an obvious pass interference that was not called.

Both teams won close games in their season opener, with New Orleans drilling a 58-yard field goal as time expired in a thrilling finish against the Houston Texans.

The Saints outgained the Texans 510 yards to 414 yards and got excellent value out of Drew Brees, who passed for 370 yards with two TD and orchestrated the game-winning drive down the field with only seconds remaining. Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn Jr. combined for 224 receiving yards and Brees was only sacked once.

One player the Rams really have to worry about is RB Alvin Kamara, who in the win over the Texans rushed for 97 yards and also had seven receptions for 72 yards. LA faced a great pass-catching RB in their 30-27 win over the Carolina Panthers in Christian McCaffery, who, even in the loss, torched them for 128 rushing yards and 81 receiving yards.

The Rams not only ran the ball well in their win over Carolina but took advantage of miscues, forcing three turnovers.

Fresh off his new huge contract, Jared Goff passed for 186 yards with a TD and a pick and Robert Woods led the squad with 70 receiving yards. Todd Gurley had a big game and while he only had 14 carries, he rushed for 97 yards with Malcolm Brown chiming in for 53 yards.

New Orleans got the win in week one, but they did give up 414 yards and 180 rushing yards, so that is a concern facing the dynamic offense of the Rams.

Dante Fowler Jr. had two sacks for the Rams against the Panthers and Clay Mathews had one, so the Saints’ offensive line has to keep these guys and Aaron Donald out of the backfield.

New Orleans Saints vs LA Rams predictions

Lose Angeles Rams -2.5 @ -111.11 with Bovada

The Saints snagged a win out of the jaws of defeat in their last game and will look to avenge last season’s playoff loss to the Rams, but that will not happen. Brees will produce magic as usual and Kamara will play well, but the Saints will not be able to stop the Rams on offense. LA will get the win in a close one and cover the spread, moving to 2-0 on the young season.
