DraftKings expands operations in New Jersey and West Virginia

DraftKings sports betting news

DRAFTKINGS has further expanded its US gambling operations with rollouts in New Jersey and West Virginia.

The daily fantasy sports company entered the booming NJ betting industry earlier this year with the launch of the DraftKings Sportsbook app for Android.

That platform now includes online blackjack, with more casino games and an iOS app expected in the near future.

DraftKings arrived in New Jersey last month after striking a deal with Resorts Casino in Atlantic City.

The company has also announced a partnership with Penn National Gaming as it prepares to set up shop for sports betting in West Virginia.

Pending approval from state regulators, the DraftKings Sportsbook will be available on both desktop and mobile devices.

“We are thrilled to work with Penn National Gaming to bring our online sportsbook product to West Virginia,” said Matt Kalish, DraftKings co-founder.

West Virginia legalised sports betting in March, with legislation coming into effect in October.

“We are pleased to help welcome DraftKings to West Virginia,” said John Finamore, Senior Vice-President of Penn National.

“We believe the state will certainly benefit from DraftKings’ tremendous brand awareness and expertise in providing customers a quality online sports betting experience.”
