Parlay odds & tips for Week 1 – 2018/19 EPL betting

EPL Week 1 parlay

EPL Week 1 parlay

After months of anticipation, with an enchanting FIFA World Cup in between, the English Premier League finally returns this weekend with the launch of the 2018/19 campaign.

A series of absorbing fixtures are set to characterise the opening weekend of the new season, with all and sundry daring to dream, as the quest to crown the new kings of English top flight kicks off.

All twenty teams may be on a level playing field, seeing as they are merely separated on alphabetical merit having not played a single match, yet there still lies a first among equals. Defending champions Manchester City lead the race for the title after conducting shrewd business throughout the English summer, while Liverpool are quite rightly poised to give them a run for their money having broken the bank to strengthen key areas in their squad.

Surprisingly as it may seem, Manchester United have had a torrid transfer window that saw them secure a paltry three signings- none of which is world class in the conventional term- which almost makes you forget that Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t made any new additions to his squad ahead of the eagerly awaited 2018/19 EPL season.

That said however, here is a look at some of the best picks ahead of Match Day One.

Premier League multi-bet for Match Day 1:

Man United to beat Leicester – $1.50
Spurs to beat Newcastle – $2.05
Liverpool to beat West Ham – $1.20
Both Arsenal & Man City to score – $1.53

EPL Accumulator Odds – $5.65 at Bovada

Parlay leg 1 – Man United vs. Leicester City

Friday, August 10 – 8:00p.m Local time – Old Trafford, Manchester, United Kingdom

The opening match of the season will see Jose Mourinho’s charges launch their bid for the title with a bout against visiting Leicester City on Friday night. Other than getting behind the team in full voice, the Old Trafford faithful will without question make their grievances heard given that a considerable number of supporters are nursing a burning sense of injustice after a dreadful transfer window.

Mourinho himself looks to be developing an untenable relationship with the club’s hierarchy, after the board- with every reference to Ed Woodward- failed to deliver key transfer targets despite having the formal request made towards the tail end of last season.

The Red devils may have had a frustrating window, especially given the nature of top drawer signing made in recent windows, but their credentials against Leicester aren’t in question going by the plethora of talent still in the squad.

Prediction: Man United to win – $1.50 at Bovada

Parlay leg 2 – Newcastle United vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Saturday, August 11 – 12:30p.m Local time – St James’ Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
Tottenham have endured a period of relative inactivity in the transfer market after failing to make any meaningful addition to their squad. The North Londoners left matters to deadline day, only to have their speculative £25m bid for midfielder Jack Grealish declined by Championship side Aston Villa.

Be that as it may, Spurs play some stellar attacking football with the current squad and their record against the Magpies could help stave off competition at an unwelcoming St. James’ Park.

Prediction: Spurs to win – $2.05 at Bovada

Parlay leg 3 – Liverpool vs. West Ham United

Sunday, August 12 – 1:30p.m Local time – Anfield, Liverpool, United Kingdom
Liverpool’s ambition over the years has been called to question, with pundits and fans alike arguing the club was slowly spiraling into mediocrity with the manner in which they sold their best players without making tenable replacements.

Rather than just putting paper over the cracks however, Jurgen Klopp has enacted a complete revamp of the squad since taking over the rein of power at Anfield three years ago; one that may very well put them on the cusp of history both domestically and in Europe.

Their first match of the season will see them play host to an injury riddled West Ham United side in what will predictably pan out as a one sided affair.

Prediction: Liverpool to win – $1.20 at Bovada

Parlay leg 4 – Arsenal vs. Manchester City

Sunday, August 12 – 4:00p.m Local time – Emirates Stadium, London, United Kingdom

This Super Sunday bout very well promises to be the most mouth watering encounter of the opening weekend in the 2018/19 Premier League campaign. Unlike the latter years of Arsene Wenger’s prolonged stay at the club where the Gunners were complete underdogs, Unai Emery’s enterprising attacking style of football will ensure his charges take the fight to City in front of an emotionally charged Emirates stadium.

Manchester City have proven that they can score at will, but the new Arsenal boss has a reputation of outscoring his opponents.

Prediction: Both teams to score – $1.53 at Bovada
