CAN anybody stop the Manchester City juggernaut?

Having been installed as UEFA Champions League favourites only a few days prior, Pep Guardiola’s men made history in midweek with their 4-0 win over Swansea City.

That was their 15th consecutive win in the English Premier League – a new all-time record, surpassing Arsenal’s run of 14 victories in 2002.

We are not even halfway through the campaign, but already the Citizens are 11 points clear at the top with a goal differential of 41.

The title is theirs to lose.

Looking to crash the party at Eastlands this Saturday are Tottenham Hotspur, who have jumped back into the top four after back-to-back wins.

Having broken their Wembley curse with a 5-1 demolition of Stoke City at the weekend, the Lilywhites took full advantage of draws to Liverpool and Arsenal in midweek with a 2-0 result over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Harry Kane was at the double once again in the win over Stoke, and another strike at the Etihad would put him one step closer to cracking an all-time record of his own.

The England star has already bagged 33 Premier League goals this calendar year, which puts him only three behind the high mark set by Alan Shearer at Blackburn Rovers in 1995.

Including the City clash, Kane has three more opportunities in 2017 to write himself onto the score sheet and into the history books.

Team news

Manchester City: Vincent Kompany pulled out of the Swansea game with an unspecified muscle injury and remains a doubt for the weekend. Benjamin Mendy (knee) and John Stones (hamstring) are long-term absentees.

Tottenham Hotspur: Davinson Sanchez is serving a ban after seeing red for a stray elbow on Watford’s Richarlison, while Toby Alderweireld (thigh) and Victor Wanyama (knee) are both sidelined through injury.

Best bets for Sergio Aguero

What makes Man City so dangerous is the sheer depth and breadth of their goalscoring threats.

Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane, Kevin de Bruyne, David Silva – all these guys have scored five goals or more in the EPL this term.

And yet, for all the pre-season speculation over his future prospects under Guardiola’s regime, Sergio Aguero is still the kingpin of the City strikeforce.

The Argentine superstar has bagged 10 EPL goals this season at rate of one every 96 minutes played – the best ratio of any player in the division.

The only question is whether he will start against Spurs after putting in a big shift in the win over Swansea.

If he does, ‘Kun’ is your go-to guy in all the major goalscoring markets.

Man City vs. Spurs match predictions

What else is there to say?

Spurs are a very good side, but their losses to Chelsea and Arsenal this season have shown up a few vulnerabilities.

If City catch even the faintest whiff of a weakness, they will exploit it ruthlessly and repeatedly.

It does not help that Tottenham are missing key figures in defence with Alderweireld and Sanchez both unavailable.

Expect some good football at both ends of the pitch, but don’t even consider betting against the league leaders on their own patch.
