Wimbledon 2019 betting tips – Best bets for men’s quarter-finals

2019 Wimbledon betting tips

2019 Wimbledon betting tips

Only four of the top 20 seeds have made it to the quarter-finals of the men’s singles at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships.

Of those four, however, the big three of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are all alive and kicking.

Djokovic has shortened to -151.52 at Bovada to defend his title, with Federer and Nadal both paying around +300 in the outright betting.

Several tennis betting sites have Sam Querrey as the next best option at +4000, even though he is the only unseeded player left in the draw.

Kei Nishikori (+5000) lost to Djokovic at this stage last year, while Roberto Bautista-Agut (+4000), David Goffin (+5000) and Guido Pella (+10000) are playing in the Wimbledon quarters for the first time.

The straight odds for Wednesday’s matches are about as one-sided as it gets, so we will have to dig a little deeper to find the best Wimbledon value bets.

Wimbledon Multi of the Day – Men’s Quarter-Finals

  • Roberto Bautista-Agut to win – -500
  • Djokovic to win in straight sets – -200
  • Nishikori vs Federer over 34.5 games – -120.48
  • Nadal to win/both players win a set – +162

Guido Pella vs Roberto Bautista-Agut

Pella +350
Bautista-Agut -500

This is rarefied air for Pella, who has never before made it past the third round of any grand slam singles event. Bautista-Agut is much more accomplished at this level and should win, but this is one of those tricky, unexpected matchups where the props are difficult to handicap accurately. Keep it simple and back the Spaniard to win.

Best bet: Roberto Bautista-Agut to win – -500 at Bovada

Novak Djokovic vs David Goffin

Djokovic -1666.67
Goffin +900

Novak is the defending champion and holds a 5-1 record over Goffin on the ATP Tour. The Serb will win, so it is a question of how hard his Belgian opponent will make him work for it. As Goffin prefers slower surfaces and has already put up a big fight to get this far, a straight-sets win for Djokovic looks the likely the outcome.

Best bet: Novak Djokovic to win in straight sets – -200 at Bovada

Kei Nishikori vs Roger Federer

Nishikori +550
Federer -909.09

Nishikori has now reached the quarters at five consecutive majors, but that is yet to translate into an appearance on the final Sunday. The Japanese star has beaten Federer three times in 10 attempts and rarely gives up a set without a fight, so we can expect plenty of games played even if Roger advances as expected.

Best bet: Over 34.5 total games – -120.48 at Bovada

Sam Querrey vs Rafael Nadal

Querrey +500
Nadal -833.33

The draw opened up for Querrey after his first-round win over Dominic Thiem, as he has not faced another seeded opponent since. The big-serving American has tested Rafa in the past and beat him when they last met on tour two years ago, so it is worth backing both players to win a set.

Best bet: Rafael Nadal to win/both players to win a set – +162 at Bovada
